130-year Birthday of the State Historical Museum
The State Historical Museum represents the exhibition "Enter the History.
Dedicated to the 130-year" Birthday of the State Historical Museum". The
exposition tells up about the creation of the first museum of Russian history in
Moscow, about its founders and first receipts. The exposition demonstrates opens
the Museum as a unique depository of historical memorials. The exhibition also
represents the main themes of the future constant exposition on Russian history
of the 18th - beginning of the 20th centuries.

Cold Flame, Hot Ice
The Exhibition Hall of Uspenskaya Belfry of the Moscow Kremlin invites you to
visit the exhibition "Cold Flame, Hot Ice" which represents a unique collection
of art glass of the 16th - beginning of the 20th centuries from the depository
of the Armory Museum. The story of glass counts more than 5000 years, and about
100 years ago it used to be an object of luxury. The collection of art glass of
the Armory Museum appeared in the second half of the 18th century and since that
time it's been constantly enriched. About 170 exhibits represent the collection
in all its variety of genres and forms, and also allow us follow the history of
glass perfection and its decoration.

Reliquiae From Ipatievsky Monastery
The exhibition "Ipatievsky Monastery - a Cradle of Imperial Dynasties" is open
in Saint Basil Cathedral. This exhibition is a continuation of the cycle
"Preserved by Russian Monasteries" which represent artistic and historical
reliquiae collected and preserved in the largest monasteries of Russia. The
exposition represents reliquiae and rarities connected with imperial dynasties
of the Godunovs' and the Romanovs' and preserved in the sacristy of Troitsky
Cathedral of Ipatievsky Monastery.

Woman Images by Peter Lindberg
The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Private Collections invite you to
the exhibition "Peter Lindberg: Images of Women". Peter Lindberg (born in
Germany in 1944) is one of the most famous fashion photographers, prestige
prizes winner. The exhibition represents the most well known works (1980-90s)
showing his own style in the best way. Lindberg's photographs stand far from
typical advertising photograph. Most pictures are black and white - these are
classical photo colors giving strictness, preciseness and lucidity to the works.

Drawings of the 16-17th Centuries
The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts invites you to the exhibition "Rubens,
Rembrandt, their forerunners and contemporaries. Netherlands, Flemish and Dutch
drawing of the 16-17th centuries. From the collection of the State Pushkin
Museum of Fine Arts." The exhibition is dated for the publication of the
catalogue of the Netherlands, Flemish, Dutch and Belgian drawing of the 16-17th
centuries. The exhibition represents the main part of the collection - more than
200 works by earlier Netherlands, Flemish and Dutch artists of the 16-17th
centuries.

The First Exhibition of the Peterhof "Treasures" in Moscow
The State Pushkin Museum represents the exhibition "The Peterhof Treasures".
Many of the exhibits are shown in Moscow for the first time. These are reliquiae
connected with the death of Alexander II and also items from the Imperial Train
which are telling us about the demise of Nikolay II.

Asker Mamedov. Painting and Graphics
The Museum of History of Moscow City represents the personal exhibition of works
by Asker Mamedov "Asker Mamedov. Painting. Graphics." The exposition exhibits
paintings dedicated to bitter and hard destiny of his Motherland - Karabakh.
Landscapes, still life, portrait and drawing take the main part in his creative
work. In some Mamedov's works elements of a still life and a landscape join and
create a complete composition. His portraits uncover not only people's
appearance but also their souls.

280 years from the day of confirmation of Table of Ranks
26 February - 15 March, the State Public Historical Library of Russia carries
out the book exhibition "Does everything depend here on a rank?" The exhibition
is dedicated to the 280-year anniversary of the confirmation of Table of Ranks
by Peter the Great. The exhibition gives a possibility to acquaint with the
literary materials from the fund of rare books. The exposition also represents
illustrations. The sections of the exhibition show how Peter's reforms helped to
create a special part of the society - officials.

Mintskabinet in the New Hermitage
The exhibition "Mintskabinet in the New Hermitage", which was opened in
12-columned Hall of the Hermitage, is dedicated to 150-year birthday of the
Museum. The exposition consists of 415 items, among them there are ancient,
Eastern and West-European coins and medals. This is only the smaller part of
Mintskabinet collection. Since the 18th century it has been replenished by
private collections, monetary finds and archaeological digs. After the fire in
1837 the Hermitage Museum became open to public and in the same century
Mintskabinet began to occupy the room in the New Hermitage. Nikolai I ordered to
enrich the collection by "compulsory" examples from Russian Mints. After the
Revolution in 1917 the collection was enlarged by nationalized private
collections and receipts from state institutions.

People and Things in the Ethnographic Museum
Russian Ethnographic Museum invites you to visit the exhibition "People and
Things" which demonstrates culture memorials, created by people of many
nationalities living on a huge area of Northern Eurasia. The principle motive of
the exhibition is a line from poetic work by Goethe: "The one who lived won't
turn to nothing."

Exhibition "Round the Table"
The Russian Ethnographical Museum continues the series of exhibitions that are
held within the International Festival "Interior's Evolution". In 2002 this will
be the fourth festival. The exhibition in the Russian Ethnographical Museum is
dedicated to such an essential thing in traditional interior as a table. The
exhibition represent tables of various design and domestic utensils of the
18th - 20th centuries.

Unknown Blockade
The State Museum of History of Saint Petersburg invites you to visit the
exhibition "Unknown Blockade". It's already been told and written enough about
the Blockade of Leningrad. All the materials and documents of that time were
taken through the hard censorship. And lots of things were left off screen. But
now for the first time you can see 90 photographs which were secret and which
give us possibility to feel all the enormity and at the same time the routine of
everyday life of the city.

Two Panels Installed in the Amber Room
The considerable stage of the Amber Room restoration has been completed. Two big
amber panels were installed on the Southern Wall of this hall on 19 February,
2002. Today we can say with assurance that the process of restoration of the
Amber Room, which lasted about 25 years, is close to an end and the Amber Room
will be opened on 31 May, 2003.
