Life in Photographic Frames
The State Historical Museum invites you to visit the exhibition "Life in
Frames". The peak of photo art in the second half of the 19th - beginning of
the 20th century gave birth to a new and special tendency in decorative
art - photographic frames design. Photographic pictures were penetrating to
interior more actively and sometimes they became the principle part of
interior decoration. The exhibition represents Morozov's private collection
of photographic frames. Among the exhibits there are works by V.Sokolov,
Levitan's learner (he worked in the earlies 1900th in Sergiev Posad),
A.Zinoviev (he was the head of Talashkinsky Art Studios in 1905-1907) and
others modern art masters. The frames are exhibited together with
photographs from the State Historical Museum. The exhibition is to last till
2 April.

Sinai Icons of the 6-7th Century
The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts invites you to the exhibition "The 6-7th
Century Mount Sinai Icons From the Collection of Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko
Museum of Fine Arts, Kiev". The exhibition will last till 3 March, 2002. The
three represented icons are from the Monastery of Saint Catherine in Mount
Sinai. This Monastery in the course of time became a real treasury of
Christian art works. The 6th century icons are the most ancient examples of
icon art we have for the present moment. They were painted with molten wax
paintings on a wooden base primed with plaster. The usage of this technology
helped them remain in such a good condition.

Main Moscow Architects - D.N.Chechulin and A.V.Vlasov
The Museum of Architecture invites you to visit two memorial exhibitions
devoted to the two main Moscow architects. "ARCHITECT CHECHULIN (On the
occasion of the centenary of the birth). The Design of the House of
Aeroflot". Dmitry Nikolaevich Chechulin belongs to the first generation of
the Soviet architects, he graduated from an architectural institute after
the revolution in 1917. Chechulin by his character was a remarkable
organizer and could sensibly interpret traditions but was not an innovator,
and in his architectural work he inclined to large-scale ensembles. And this
feature of his work made him a key figure in Moscow town-planning in
1930-40s. "ARCHITECT VLASOV (On the occasion of the centenary of the birth).
The Design of Komvuz". Alexander Vasilievich Vlasov was born in a family of
a forestry specialist. All his life he was fond of nature and dreamt to
create a work on decorative dendrology. In his work as an architect he was
notable for his ability to make buildings and ensemble blend with land and
nature surroundings. By the time he graduated from the institute, among his
colleagues he became remarkable as wonderful painter and art expert.

"Amaravella" - "Svet Nesuschaya", which displays the works of P.P.Fateev,
B.A.Smirnov-Rusetsky, A.P.Sardan, V.T.Chernovolenko. "Amaravella" group was
established by Petr Petrovich Fateev and Boris Alekseevich Smirnov-Rusetsky
in October, 1922. The main idea of "Amaravella" creative investigations was
man's liberation from the chains of the Earth's attraction and the cosmos
take-over through the inner evolution. Ideological and artistic credo of
"Amaravella" group was formed completely after the meeting N.K.Roerich and
E.I.Roerich. After dramatic events in political life of Russia in 1930-40s
when lives of all the members of the group were radically changed,
exhibition activity of "Amaravella" could be recommenced only in the 1960s.
At the present moment works by "Amaravella" artists are deposited in some
private collections, in the Museum of Cosmonautics, in the Museum of Art of
the Eastern People and also in many other museums of Russia. The exhibition
